Wedding Investment FAQs

My Number 1 Recommendation: Be sure to hire a photographer based on if you like their work because that is what is important when it comes down to it. It’s an incredibly special day between you and your significant other; you want to make sure you will love the images you have from it to look back on!

Will you bring your own lighting for the wedding?

For inside ceremonies I do not shoot without additional lighting unless for the rare occasion the church/building is open or lit enough for natural light. I have my own speed light I keep on camera but also have studio lighting I can set up for formal shots if discussed ahead of time. As for outside, natural light is usually all that is needed.

Do you work from a shot list?

A timeline of the day and a shot list is developed from a questionnaire filled out by you and your partner. This covers all immediate family, grandparents, bridal party and details of the day to ensure your portraits and other moments are captured.

If I book my engagement shoot and my wedding through you can I get a discount?

If you book a wedding with me the engagement session is included and discounted in the price. If you were to do an engagement session and then book a wedding with me, the engagement session price will be discounted from the package.

Do I have to order prints through you?

I order everything from professional printing labs view them and their products here. I strive for and confirm quality before I even take a picture and keep it throughout the entire editing process. As an artist and business owner, this is how I can ensure quality to my clients from start to finish. You can print from other places like Walgreens or Walmart, but be aware the print quality is lower and not calibrated which may not print your image the way it looks.

Is an album included?

Yes, unless you choose the coverage only option.

How much is a deposit/retainer?

A retainer is half as much as your final bill. If you book a package only, it is half of that. If you book a package and additional coverage, it is half of the total price. The retainer is non-refundable as of 4 months out from the wedding date for the fact that if there were to be a cancellation it is then unlikely to get it rebooked as I saved that date and would have had to turn other clients’ weddings on that date away. In rare situations, credit can be given back in terms of ordering other product from the engagement session or be transferred to a different type of session or possibly refunded.

When is the balance due?

The final balance is due at the latest, 30 days from the wedding date. After that a late fee will be applied. If it is still not paid in full by a week before the wedding and I have not even heard from you or been able to make contact with you to discuss it, it is to be assumed that I will not be shooting the wedding and there will be no refund. This is in my contact as I expect my clients to AT LEAST get in touch with me about any complication, concern, anything that may interfere.
